Erin's 40th

For Erin's birthday I planned a little surprise for him. I called a few of the guys from his shift and asked them to meet us at the Yardhouse for dinner. From there we went to the Improv to see one of the funniest commedians, Craig Shoemaker. We all had a great time and enjoyed all the great laughs.

Our Kidnapped Gord !

Well, I knew it was Tracy, (that Knox family) once I realized it was missing. The kids and I were having fun with our pumpkin.... that it had lasted this long in the first place. Well, it has been kidnapped. I have pleaded with Tracy not to squash it. She promised she would return it with a Mardi Gras outfit. Timeri has cried over it, it was her pumpkin. As strange as it seems, we have grown attached to this pumpkin.

Our little hatchlings

About three weeks ago, I would continually find these itsy bitsy praying mantis in the corner of our kitchen. It was the weirdest thing. I would find one, and it was about half the size of a finger nail, and then a few days would pass.... and I would find another one or even two. Well this past weekend when I saw three crawling around, I knew they were coming from some where. I had an old Bible in the corner form my God mother dated 1948... I wondered if they were miraculously coming from there? It was very strange. Then I found this brown thing that Caden had found in our front yard. It resembled some sort of cocoon, but looked very different from a caterpillar cocoon. And as I held it, a baby praying mantis emerged from this cocoon. We have now hatched about 15 of them. It is a pretty amazing process, seeing them emerge form this cocoon. Another one of God's amazing creations. We have been feeding them leaves. Davin is just thrilled that we are taking care of them. In the next few days we are going to let them be free in our backyard.

Black Sea Bass

Caden had an ocean report on the Black Sea Bass. We had fun doing the research on this fish. We learned that this fish is actually orange when it is young. Caden did a great job.

After he read his report he played this video for the class to see. It is amazing that this fish is just hanging out in La Jolla.

Chanel the singer

Timeri was at it again with Chanel. This time she put the headphone set from Timeri's barbie guitar on Chanels' head. It was pretty funny how Chanel just sat there. Timeri squealed and said "She can sing"

Sea World

Erin and I went with Timeri and Slater's preschool to Sea World for the day. It was an enjoyable time just being with the two of them. We went to see the seals, and there was one that sat there a posed. I think he was doing a great job posing for the camera. I think he had other intentions of making himself look handsome to get a fish thrown at him. The funniest thing was when Slater kept saying "There is my best friend". The last time we went fishing in the ocean with Papa Doug, Slater claimed one of the seals we saw was his "best friend".

Another adventure

I took the kids and their friends Samuel and Isaac to an empty lot near our house to ride through some open fields. They attempted to make jumps out of the dirt. All of their bikes were pretty muddy, so they rode through a puddle on the street to clean their bikes. I think the kids thought that was the best thing ever. They were all very dirty and wet. Little Timeri even joined in the fun.

Our Valentine Pumpkin

Posted by Picasa

Well the story starts with my girlfriend Tracy. She has laughed at me the past two years because at Christmas time I seem to still have our pumpkin on our front porch. Last year, I threw it out once she brought it to my attention... but this year when Erin and I were taking all the Christmas decorations down... there stood our pumpkin at the front door. Tracy has made threats that she is going to kidnap it! I told her I was going to see if it would last until next fall. So the kids and I decorated it for Valentines Day. I can only imagine what people think when they come to the door and see a painted pumpkin. I have since decided I will decorate it for each holiday.

Here is Slater, aka Batman, driving the jeep with his favortie buddy Ratatouille. I can't believe he is driving Caden and Davin's jeep now.

Here is Caden and Davin being silly little boys... wrestling and putting underwear on their heads. They thought it was rather funny... and actually it was !
